Swasthagraha- A step towards a healthy India

Following the footsteps of Mahatma Gandhi, on his 150th birth anniversary, the entire nation came together with the ideology of Swasth Bharat Abhiyan initiated by honorable Prime Minister of India.


The Swachh Bharat Abhiyan would be the best gift India could give to the Father of the Nation. Only with cleaner India, we could achieve Healthier India. We see how ‘Swasth’ meaning Healthy and ‘Swachh’ meaning Clean are terms interlinked to each other, holding even more meaning in themselves. Swachh Bharat Abhiyan was led by a trending hashtag #cleanindia.





With Global Goalkeeper Award coming to India, we the Indians have shaken the world with amazement and now India is known for the firm dedications keeping with the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and achieving it to a commendable extent. Starting from the year of 2014 and Swachh Bharat Abhiyan completed its tenure in the year of 2019, now moving towards Swasth Bharat Abhiyan.


SWACHH= SWASTHA


A lot happened on 2nd October 2019, on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. NDTV hosted a 12-hour Telethon on Swasth Bharat Abhiyan, the movement hence gaining popularity by the name- SWASTHAGRAHA. Some eminent personalities joined the movement and shared their insights on the reform.


Swasthagraha was led by renowned Innovators and their groundbreaking green & healthy innovations and practices. The entire telethon hosted by veteran actor Mr. Amitabh Bacchan had attraction point from the Healthcare and food industry.

  • Several steps were introduced to Enhance the quality of food

  • Food hygiene reforms were put into picture

  • Personal health and hygiene were taken into consideration

  • UN member and Bollywood actress, Priyanka Chopra talked addressed the issue of malnutrition in India.

  • Kiren Rijju, Ripu Daman, Luke Coutinho talked about the concept of Plogging, picking up litter while jogging as a part of the Fit India Movement. A unique concept though!

  • Siddharth Malhotra, Sangeeta Patel from USAID discussed Fitness and fitness actually means.

  • Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Health Minister of India threw the light on Elimination of Tuberculosis by the year 2025 and eradication of Measles.

  • Swasthagraha was joined by Innovators like Ratul Narain, Arun Agarwal, Poonam Jaggi, Aditya Dev Sood, and Nitesh Kumar Jangir


All the activities and initiative was followed with a hashtag #BanegaSwasthIndia which is now trending everywhere.

When we are talking about Swasthagraha, health is our prime focus. Only a healthy India can be a wealthy India. The life expectancy of people has been slashed by huge numbers. Every age group is now prone to diseases which once affected only in later stages of life. Hence, the healthcare sector needs to be advanced before these diseases start taking tolls on the lives of the Indians.
